I spent the month reflecting on changing seasons, the act of noticing, tiny observations, minute details, curling vines, flowers, the act of blooming, vulnerability, growing affection, dreams, cycles, questioning what it means to be seen, to feel seen, intertwinement, seedlings, growth, the solace of the nighttime, shadows, darkness, light, contentment, acceptance, unknowing.
On the images:
an egret ready to take flight from the riverbank of the Saco River on my first kayak of the season. Two plant tendrils wrapped around each other, intertwined, almost as if an embrace, from an evening run in the cemetery. The shadows of buttercups on the palms of my hand. An old scene and image from my first night in my apartment two years ago when two pigeons roosted on my window ledge. I only saw them once. And a celestial lean for two paintings not pulled from life or photos-- with an idea I've had for a long time of a silhouetted hand against a night sky and within it, a glimpse of the day.
